Nimboli Women’s Empowerment

Product Description

Shanti Mandir is collaborating with a local organization (Om Gagangiri Maharaj Ashirwadit Trust) in the Nimboli area addressing the needs of impoverished tribal women. Their projects include scholarships and uniforms for girls; classes in beginning and advanced computer skills; vocational training in tailoring, embroidery, cooking, and cake making; training in natural farming and creation of fruit tree plantations; health education and feminine pads distribution; and yoga for women’s associations. In 2013, Shanti Mandir was instrumental in the creation of a women’s artist workshop, Padukas Artisans, in Nimboli by serving as inspiration, mentor and guide. Padukas Artisans continues and has become self sustaining while providing jobs for 35-60 women, depending upon sales.

With great respect and love, a heartfelt welcome to everyone.
